I remember so vividly my papa sitting on the edge of his bed waiting for me to bring my hair towel so he could dry my hair for me. This was when I was in the early primary years. I still remember how it felt like having his strong hands, slightly calloused from hard work, pat my hair dry using the cotton towel. He would then rub the towel on my head using both hands to dry the hair closer to the scalp. I remember thinking then, "dad's quite rough when he does this. It's because he's strong and manly"
It was definitely not as gentle as mummy's touch but it was a different feel. It was unique.
And I wondered today, as I could not recall, "when did it all come to a halt?... When did I grow shy?"
I used to go "mummy..mummy..." then draw my face close to mums and start fluttering my eyelashes, closer and closer to mums. Mummy would then do the same. When our eyelashes met in butterfly kisses, I would then get this tingling sensation all over my face, especially in the lips, all from the tickle. Mum and i would pull away, laugh and do it again. It was our thing.

When I think far back into the past to my first ever memory of my existence, it doesn't extend too far back. The oldest memory I have is probably of incidences when I was 5 years old?
I always wondered what it would be like if we had the cognitive ability and memory to retain memories from birth. How amazing will that be?
Anyway, I was just talking to wz and thought of a story my mum used to tell me.
One day when I was a smallsmall fry, I set up my play area next to the wooden dining table which had a glass cabinet alligned parallel to it. I don't know how (don't remember) it happened but the glass cabinet (lacking safety panels) toppled and crashed onto the dining table with me sitting in between. In those days, I'm guessing, tampered glass was not yet available. So, an abundance of broken glass went flying in all directions, of course not missing out the top of my poor delicate head. My mum, amazingly, in all that panic and shock was able to come up with the most innovative solution ever!! She dashed for the... VACUUM CLEANER! She then sucked up the glass bits all over my head.
How will I ever top that?!
Mum&Dad are No.1!
